Academic texts can seem daunting – especially so in a language that is not your mother tongue. In this first workshop of the series, we’re going to take a closer look at examples of academic texts, focusing on strategies to unpick them step by step to simplify understanding. Doing so, we’ll also discuss vocabulary and phrases that are often used in academic writing. We’ll look at what text features make an English text an academic text or not and what to look out for when determining what are reliable academic sources in English.

This webinar is the first part of the Webinar Series Academic English. We highly recommend to participate in all three parts of the series. After you have participated successfully in all three workshops, you will receive a certificate of attendance for the Workshop series Academic English.

The webinar will be held in English and it is suitable for students with English proficiency B2/C1.
