The Staff Council for Technology and Administration represents the interests of the employees of Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences in accordance with the State Staff Representation Act of North Rhine-Westphalia (LPVG). The Staff Council is included in the decision-making process at an early stage and has various rights. Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences has elected the Staff Council for Technology and Administration on 5 July 2023.

Co-determination and participation
- Right to information: The office management is required to inform the Staff Council in a timely and comprehensive manner and to provide all necessary documents so that the committee can perform its duties properly.
- Right to be heard: The Staff Council has the right to express its views at hearings and to influence the office's decision-making process.
- Right of participation: The Staff Council is included in decisions based on an agreement between both sides.
- Right of co-determination: For measures that are subject to co-determination, the Staff Council must give its consent before they can be implemented.

Areas of responsibility
The general tasks in accordance with Section 64 of the LPVG include:
- Regulating and recording working hours
- Complying with laws and agreements in favor of employees
- Protecting the freedom of association
- Complying with accident prevention and health regulations
- Processing complaints
- Promoting the integration and professional development of people with severe disabilities and other people in need of protection
- Submitting applications for measures to promote the employment of persons with severe disabilities
- Integrating foreign employees and promoting understanding between different cultures
- Ensuring gender equality between women and men

- Promote good cooperation through appropriate, comprehensive information for all parties involved
- Ensure comprehensive transparency in all departmental decisions through "open" decision-making
- Perform the role as a representative for justice, including in the form of equal treatment
- Protect personal rights, especially in cases of conflicts of interest regarding the need for information
- Guarantee a protective shield for employees in the event of inappropriate discretionary decisions by the office
