Vita

(Health) technologies of the future accompany Prof. Dr. András Biczó both in his theoretical education in mechanical engineering and his many years of practical experience in industry.

He began his university education by studying mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Cluj Napoca in Romania. After a master's degree with a specialization in production engineering at the same university, he continued his academic career as a research assistant at the Institute for Machine Tools at the University of Stuttgart where he gained his first teaching experience and led international research projects.

With a doctor’s degree in mechanical engineering, he started his industrial career as a project manager in the research department of Hilti AG in Schaan, Liechtenstein. After two years in this position and further education in marketing and environmental management, he moved to Hilti Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH in Kaufering, Germany. As head of the "Dust" Competence Center with the associated research laboratory, Biczó and his team developed new extraction systems and platforms from design over production to market readiness.

On February 1st, 2016 András Biczó took over the professorship "Manufacturing and Production Technology" at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences. His research includes production technologies in the Industry 4.0 environment, occupational health and safety, ergonomics and digitalization in small and medium size companies.

Since March 1st, 2018 he is Deputy Head of Department for teaching and internationalization in the Department Hamm 2 and since January 2020 he is a member of the university senate.

Prof. Dr. András Biczó is author of several technical publications and lectures at international conferences. He is married and father of three children.
