Thermoforming

Forming process in which plastic films or sheets are shaped by heating. The semi-finished product is brought into contact with a tool that reflects the contour to be formed and pressed against it by a vacuum.

After cooling, the film/sheet has solidified and can be removed from the mold.

In the thermoforming process, plastic films are heated until pliable. They are then drawn over a mold under vacuum and cooled to obtain the final shape.
