Language Center

Expand your existing knowledge or start learning a new language in one of our diverse course formats. We adapt our courses every semester based on the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) levels, while including insights into culture and society.

In addition to language courses, you can also attend workshops, information events and international cafés to experience languages in many different exciting ways.

If the language or level you want to learn this semester is not currently listed on the program, we also provide you with free Babbel licenses.

Once a semester, you have the opportunity to take the Cambridge C1 Advanced Test and get your advanced English language skills certified directly at HSHL. This is not only convenient, but also saves you certificate fees.

If you're planning to study abroad, we also offer at least one DAAD test appointment per campus each semester. Short correction times and close cooperation with the International Office guarantee you full service during your preparations.

From A for application deadline to Z for Zoom, we support and advise you on all questions and challenges relating to language learning at HSHL. Why? Because we want you to achieve your goals reliably and effectively.

Our translation service promotes bilingualism at the university, thereby making an important contribution to internationalization. This service is offered to all HSHL employees and researchers.

We also maintain the HSHL English glossary and offer counseling on the use of the English language. We also offer custom-designed language courses for employees.
