The Center for Knowledge Management (ZfW) has its own IT department, which administers and supports the custom-developed university portal myHSHL as well as the HSHL learning environment that can be accessed from it. A dedicated team, multiple proprietary automated processes and the support of external service providers help keep our HSHL learning environment up-to-date on the latest developments in educational software.
Within the HSHL learning environment, conventional educational software systems, such as the Learning Platform and our “study-assist” central information platform, are combined with business software products, such as Your Email Inbox. We also provide you with the necessary software for your studies via this portal.
We custom-design your learning environment, are open to new systems and current technologies and continually work on their further development.

In their academic and professional lives, all affiliates of the university will interact with the ZfW IT team at one point or another:
- from assistance (through our HelpDesk and the ZfW IT consultation hours) on how to use the HSHL learning environment,
- to questions and answers relating to the ZfW offers on our Learning Platform and in study-assist,
- up to instructions, licenses and assistance with the installation of software packages relevant to your studies.
HSHL account
Your HSHL account is created for you upon enrollment. This gives you ready access to all ZfW online services at HSHL and also to the university’s PCs with just one account.
myHSHL
myHSHL is the access portal for Your Studies at HSHL. Thanks to this hub, you only have to log in once, and from there you gain access to the following services:

University Mailbox
Upon your enrollment, we set up your own personal email inbox that you can access via myHSHL or by email forwarding. All information relevant to your studies will be sent to this email address.

Student account
Via myHSHL, we also provide you with access to the online portal of the Student Services. The Campus Office Online portal is your central information platform for organizing your exams and studies. You can view important information, certificates of study, written exam registrations and exam grades from the comfort of your own home or on the go via this online portal.
A separate password is required for Campus Office Online (not the same one as your HSHL account). The Student Services Organization will be happy to help you with any questions.

Learning Platform
On the Learning Platform, you will find all the up-to-date information, your schedule and learning materials for your courses and lectures. These documents remain accessible throughout your entire studies. You could even call the Learning Platform your “digital memory.”

"Study-Assist" information platform
Our information platform “Study-assist” bundles information on software, instructions for email and Wi-Fi, library services, specialized databases and much more. Here you will also find answers to the most important questions and all consultation offers relating to your studies at HSHL.

NextCloud
At HSHL, you get your own NextCloud drive. Here you can save your data, access it online at any time and share it with other students. You can even mark your most important documents as favorites and have them displayed for direct access in myHSHL.

Software
An important prerequisite for successful entry into a career is the ability to handle specialized software competently. During your studies, we provide you with software free of charge; this currently includes Citavi, MATLAB, SolidWorks, SPSS, Minitab, think-cell, APIS IQ and many more programs. Downloading them is possible directly via MarketPlace in myHSHL.

Student account
The Campus Office is your main point of contact for interaction and information throughout your entire studies. Outside of office hours, you can also conveniently view important information online, such as exam grades from home or on the go. This function is available in your student account, which you can find online in the Campus Office.
