Working academically and scientifically

Writing | Citing | Search techniques | Workshops | Counseling

The ability to work academically and scientifically forms the cornerstone for success in your studies. The proper application of academic and scientific methods and tools (such as writing scholarly texts, conducting specialized literature research, following citation conventions, etc.) makes the process of writing a final thesis or other academic and scientific texts easier.

Fit for a Bachelor’s thesis and more

The ability to work academically and scientifically is an important building block, not only for your studies but also for your career and everyday life. Why is that? Academic and scientific work generates new findings that can be useful across a wide variety of fields, such as medicine, business or engineering. Verified academic and scientific findings are also important in everyday life, for example, when it comes to identifying fake news.

Academic and scientific techniques
Academic and scientific work methods apply certain techniques that you will learn during your studies. In your final thesis, you will then demonstrate that you have mastered these techniques and can apply them well. The following aspects are important:

  • planning the research project,
  • researching relevant sources,
  • analyzing and citing content,
  • writing academic and scientific texts,
  • applying methodologies (e.g., conducting interviews),
  • using new technologies, such as ChatGPT.
