Welcome Workshop for International Students - Day 1

International students are often confronted with a completely new academic environment at the beginning of their studies and have many different questions or feel insecure.
For this reason, the International Office invites all new international students to a two-day preparatory workshop for the winter semester 2025/26. Shortly before the start of the semester, you will not only get to know the campus and other international students, but will also be perfectly prepared for the start of your studies.
Topics include:
- First orientation + get to know HSHL
- What does it mean to study successfully?
- What should I be aware of - especially in the first semester?
- What is expected of me?
- What can I do and who can I turn to if I have problems during my studies?
- Guest speakers from Examination Organization, General Student Counselling and students from higher semesters giving important information.
- How to... German bureaucracy.
Including lunch together in the dining hall on day 1!
Afterwards, we would like to introduce you to the International Buddy Program and the International Café.
The workshop is divided into two days: 15.09.2025 and 19.09.2025, both from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please register for both days seperately via Moodle.
Participation is voluntary, but highly recommended if you want to start your studies well prepared.
