Digitalization and Knowledge Management

Digitalization | Cybersecurity | Knowledge management

Our university’s Department for Digitalization and Knowledge Management is driving digital innovation forward. These innovations play a key role in all facets of our university: academic studies and teaching, research and transfer, and university administration.

Mastering the challenges of digitalization

Digitalization opens new ways for us to transfer knowledge, streamline research projects, and optimize administrative processes. A special emphasis of the department is the development of a secure cyber and information space for the university. Security in the digital environment is indispensable for ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of our data. For this reason, the office of the "Chief Information Security Officer" (CISO) is an essential part of the Department for Digitalization and Knowledge Management. The CISO office monitors and implements suitable information security measures to protect our data and digital infrastructures from threats.

One notable project of the department is the autonomous electronic exam system. By making it possible for exams to be conducted efficiently and securely, it guarantees the integrity and reliability of the exam results, offering examiners and students flexible testing formats.

In recent years, new AI models and cyber-physical systems are becoming increasingly important. Artificial intelligence is revolutionizing how we analyze data and make decisions. AI models help us to identify patterns in large quantities of data, make predictions, and solve complex problems. This is invaluable not only to research but also for the administration.

The Department for Digitalization and Knowledge Management is therefore committed to fully exploiting the potential of these technologies and supporting our university on its path into the digital future. Together with our employees and the creative energy of our students, we’re pushing the digital transformation forward—to successfully shape Mission Future.
