Innovations in information and communication technologies are also driving transformations in the higher education landscape. All sectors of this educational landscape are affected by this transformation process. Universities must therefore also adapt to these changes. Ultimately, digitalization impacts the overall alignment of the university, its internal processes, and the work of students and teachers. That is why Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences has set up the Department for Digitalization and Knowledge Management to drive the planning of measures for the further develop of HSHL’s holistic digitalization approach, among other projects. This also includes electronic examinations and application virtualization for studies and teaching.
The Chief Information Security Officer also reports to this Department. Indeed, data protection and data security are indispensable prerequisites for the successful digitalization of the university landscape.
