Bachelor's Study Program | Lippstadt Campus

International Business Meets Language Studies: Prepare yourself for an increasingly interconnected and globalized workplace, where the intercultural context also plays a key role.

Navigating Global Markets with Confidence

As a graduate of the "International Business Studies" study program, you will be able to operate in international and intercultural contexts and will have the ability to communicate effectively in English and another foreign language.

The primary goal of the "International Business Studies" study program is not only to equip you with a solid understanding of the fundamentals of business administration but also to prepare you for an increasingly interconnected and globalized workplace.

Here's what you can expect

During the first two semesters, you’ll learn the general fundamentals of business administration, economics, and research methods. This includes modules in marketing, accounting, taxation, human resources management, statistics, and math.

In addition, you’ll improve your English language skills (required language) and begin studying a second foreign language (Spanish or French).

In the third and fourth semesters, the specializations in International Business emphasize the study program’s internationally oriented profile. The following modules are taught in English:

  • Intercultural Management
  • International Economics
  • International Management
  • International Finance & Accounting

Starting in the third semester, you’ll also have the opportunity to set individual areas of focus within your studies. This is achieved by selecting mandatory elective modules that allow for specialization in various areas of business administration.

Project Work

Project work reinforces the practical orientation within a chosen business specialization. It enables you to apply the knowledge you have acquired in a practical context by independently analyzing a business-related problem and developing solutions.

Global Future Skills

In addition to subject-specific knowledge, the development of cross-disciplinary future skills plays an important role in the study program. These interdisciplinary skills are intensified in the later semesters in the modules "Global Future Skills I and II". Through innovative, highly interactive teaching methods, these modules equip you with interdisciplinary personal, collaborative, transformative, and/or technological future skills, thereby directly preparing you for the challenges of international business.

Bachelor’s Thesis

The bachelor’s thesis is an academic paper that requires you to independently address a business-related research question using academic methods. The skills necessary for academic work are systematically developed and honed in earlier semesters, for example through seminar papers.

Optional Exchange Semester

The optional exchange semester allows you to expand your professional and intercultural competencies in an international academic environment.
