How can digital technologies be used to improve business processes? How can data be put to good use, and how can new IT systems be successfully implemented in companies? In the "Business Informatics" study program, you'll combine technical expertise with an understanding of business administration and learn to develop digital solutions for specific challenges faced by companies.

Semesters 1–4: Foundational Phase
During the first four semesters, you'll lay the groundwork in computer science and business and learn how to integrate these two fields. Among other topics, you'll study programming, databases, and management information systems, and learn how to analyze and digitally design business processes. Through hands-on projects, you'll apply your knowledge and develop solutions to specific business challenges.

Semesters 5–6: Specialization Phase
In the later semesters, you'll set your own academic focus and deepen your knowledge through mandatory elective modules. For example, you can explore topics such as data science and AI, cybersecurity, or economics and information systems. Through an IT project, you'll tackle an interdisciplinary challenge and prepare for your bachelor's thesis and your career entry.

Optional: Internship Semester
Would you like to gain even more practical experience? If so, you can extend your degree program with an internship semester and apply your knowledge directly within a company. You'll gain firsthand insight into business processes, work on specific tasks, and build valuable contacts to help you launch your career.
Your Degree Program at a Glance
During the first four semesters, you'll complete mandatory modules and gradually build your skills in computer science and business administration. In the process, you’ll learn to combine both fields and apply them to specific business challenges.
In the area of computer science, you'll focus on topics such as programming, software engineering, databases, and management information systems. You'll learn to understand, develop, and strategically deploy digital systems to support business processes.
In the business administration track, you'll acquire fundamental knowledge in business administration and economics and explore business processes and entrepreneurial contexts. Mathematical and analytical foundations will help you understand complex relationships and address data-driven problems.
In addition, you'll develop project management skills and gain experience in interdisciplinary collaboration through hands-on projects. This allows you to learn early on how to align technical and business requirements and develop solutions collaboratively.
In the later semesters, you can set your own areas of focus through mandatory elective modules and deepen your knowledge in areas such as data science and AI, cybersecurity, or economics and information systems. In an IT project, you'll apply your knowledge to an interdisciplinary challenge and complete your degree with a bachelor's thesis.
Optionally, you can extend your studies with an internship semester. During this time, you'll apply your knowledge in a company, gain valuable professional experience, and build contacts for your future career.

With a bachelor's degree in "Business Informatics", you'll work at the intersection of management and IT. As a business informatics specialist, you'll bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions, coordinate projects, and ensure that digital systems optimally support a company's business processes. In doing so, you'll act as a liaison between different departments and help make business operations more efficient through technology.
