Born in Duisburg, Prof. Voigt-Antons was drawn to study psychology at Darmstadt Technical University, where he received his diploma in 2008. After receiving his diploma in Darmstadt, Prof. Voigt-Antons earned his doctorate in computer science at the Technical University of Berlin, where he also worked as a research assistant, particularly in the areas of human-machine interaction and user experience in teaching and research.
Over the past 20 years, his professional career has taken him to the automotive and telecommunications sectors. At Daimler AG he focused on the development of physiological measurement methods for automotive applications and how this technology can be used during the development of driver assistance systems.
Between his studies and doctorate, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan-Niklas Voigt-Antons worked at the Telekom Innovation Laboratories as a Research Scientist. There, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan-Niklas Voigt-Antons was an expert on all issues relating to the measurement of user states in telecommunications systems. In addition to consulting on issues of human-machine interaction, he specialized in the development of measurement methods.
Before he took over the professorship "Applied Computer Science with a focus on immersive media" at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences on November 1, 2021, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan-Niklas Voigt-Antons was Senior Research Scientist at the Quality and Usability Lab of the Technical University of Berlin.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jan-Niklas Voigt-Antons is the author of numerous scientific publications and an active speaker at renowned international conferences. He is also a reviewer for scientific conferences and journals and has participated in numerous standardization activities.
