The bachelor's study program in "Sustainable Materials Engineering" is an undergraduate, English-language program offered at Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences. It is designed for prospective students from Germany and abroad who are interested in an interdisciplinary education in the natural sciences and wish to focus on fundamental and applied issues in materials science. The program combines applied materials science with sustainability aspects and serves as the foundation for the master’s program of the same name, "Sustainable Materials Engineering". The program is rounded out by required modules for learning the German language.

Your study progress

  • Semesters 1–2: Fundamentals

    During the first two semesters, you’ll lay the foundation for your academic success. This gives you the opportunity to apply your knowledge directly, for example, in companies with international operations. At the same time, you’ll not only expand your professional expertise but also make valuable connections and build a strong professional network.

  • Semesters 6–7: Elective Courses Phase and Bachelor's Thesis

    In the sixth and seventh semesters, you’ll tailor your studies entirely to your interests. From a wide range of required electives, you’ll choose the topics that best align with your career goals, thereby refining your individual academic profile. The program culminates in your bachelor’s thesis, in which you’ll demonstrate how you successfully combine academic expertise with practical thinking.
