Since 2021, HSHL has participated in the nationwide study "The Student Survey in Germany". The survey is conducted every four years and initially saw participation from approximately 180,000 students across 250 universities. In the summer semester of 2025, we invite all HSHL students to participate once again.
What is the survey about?
The aim of the survey is to capture a comprehensive and realistic picture of students’ diverse circumstances. By sharing your experiences, you ensure that your perspective is included:
- What has your educational journey been like so far?
- What is your economic and social situation like?
- How are you experiencing your studies?
- How do you envision your professional future?
The survey particularly aims at representing the needs of smaller groups, for example:
- Students who have children,
- Students with disabilities,
- Students that are enrolled in dual or part-time programs,
- Students without a traditional university entrance qualification,
- International students.
The German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW) coordinates the survey. Your answers will, of course, remain anonymous.
Why participate?
For HSHL, the survey is an important source of information for both, the continuous development of studies and teaching as well as improving the overall conditions at the university. In addition, the findings contribute to the National Education Report and serve as a valuable basis for decision-making by federal and state politicians, universities and student services.
By participating you share your perspective and ensure that diverse student needs are better understood and addressed. The more students participate, the more successfully student needs, including those of smaller groups, will be represented.
