Library catalog
In our library catalog you can research our extensive and constantly growing media stocks.
The best way is to use the library catalog via myHSHL. From there you can access the eBooks independent of time and place after registration. You also have access to your user account and can, for example, reserve or extend media or suggest new books for acquisition.

Databases and other electronic media
In addition to the Bibliothekskatalog (library catalog), there are other search options for finding numerous scientific sources. In particular, the Datenbank-Infosystem (Database Information System) and the Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek (Electronic Journals Library) are a good starting point for a successful research.
In the Datenbank-Infosystem (Database Information System; DBIS) you will find scientific general and subject databases. Many of these databases can be used for free or HSHL has acquired a license for them. You can sort the databases, for example, by subject, by database type, etc.
The Elektronische Zeitschriftenbibliothek (Electronic Journals Library; EZB) is a directory of full-text scientific journals. Here, too, you can sort the journals by subjects etc. A traffic light system shows you if access to the journal is available.
IMPORTANT: When doing your research, it is best to be logged on to the university network (from home via VPN). This is the only way you can access licensed media!

Service is extremely important to us: The staff of the Center for Knowledge Management is available to answer all kinds of questions and help you find your way around the library. We also offer regular guided tours for students, staff of Hamm-Lippstadt University of Applied Sciences and all interested parties.

Scientific work is one of the foundations for successful studies. The correct use of scientific tools (such as researching specialist literature, quoting, writing scientific texts, ...) simplifies the preparation of a thesis or other scientific texts.
Fit for scientific work
We support you in acquiring the appropriate know-how for scientific work. In workshops, webinars and individual consultations we will explain all important aspects in this context.
If, for example, you need help with research or Citavi, you are welcome to contact the library team. We will be happy to assist you! You can reach us by e-mail and personally during our service hours.
If you have any questions about academic writing, the Language Center is the place to contact. In addition, the study-assist provides you with a wide range of aids to make scientific work and writing texts easier.
